A big leap.
After a decade in education (mostly as a MS, HS, and college band director🎺), I made the change:
a scary one.
After all, leaving everything that I was best at (ie: 1st place OSAA HS band champion) was laden with risk:
I didn't fully know what it would mean to rely entirely on my own performance. Or what it would be like running a business (vs working for the state).
What if I couldn't float?
Or worse: what if I drowned?
Heather Mills Photography's "doors" opened in 2015.
And by the start of 2017, our studio doors opened too.
(Can you believe it'll be *10 years* so soon?!)
It was that year--2017--that we participated in the Reader's Choice awards. And that first year we were blown away:
with a second place finish.
I was amazed. And wondered: how could that be?!
After all, at that time, it seemed like we were just a little splash in a sea of waves.
But our clients and supporters were the BEST fans--
--and continue to be.
In 2017 and every year since, you have shown up. Cheered us on. Taken the time out of your own busy lives to make a world of difference for me.
We have placed first ever since: from 2018 on...
...and *NOW 2024 TOO*!!!
And it means *SO* much.
I know I can't do this alone. And I know it is YOU who have given me the gift of acknowledgement year after year after year.
Even now--just shy of a *DECADE* at this, and having grown so much since we first began--I recognize that we are where we are because of YOU.
