Are you a UO or Bushnell University senior?
Or parent to a high school soon-to-be-graduate?
You may be wondering:
when should I schedule senior portraits?
For the college grad, the timeline focus is graduation announcements.
For the high school graduate though, it’s not just about graduation announcements.
With yearbook submission deadlines in the fall for high school seniors, sessions take place during a different season.
This year, UO graduation ceremony takes place Monday, June 16, 2025 at 9 AM at Autzen Stadium.
And with graduation announcements hitting your loved ones’ mailboxes starting in late May, your college graduation session should take place by mid April.

But what about the high school senior?
High school senior yearbook submission deadlines for most of the Eugene area schools comes fast, especially if your child is involved in a fall sport or activity: football, soccer, and volleyball players alike—along with marching band musicians, cheerleaders and dancers—are scheduled from morning through night with practices, often busy in competition, film review, tournaments, and more.
Then, the rain hits.
Now, we love embracing the rain during sessions—the weather makes for dreamy portraits.
BUT if your goal is sunshine-filled days, backlit moments, and warmth, you’ll want to schedule in August or September for your session.

Perhaps you love the colors as the leaves change, and have flexibility in the fall to pair with. Then, scheduling your high school senior session in October is recommended.
And, if you too love the mood of a rainy-day moment, at the latest, you’ll want to schedule your session in the first half of November in order to still meet those yearbook submission deadlines come December.

Whether you’re a UO senior looking at those last April dates before your graduation ceremony, or a parent of a 2026 senior planning for the summer and fall months before your child’s high school yearbook deadline hits, it’s time to reach out.
